The Punjab police in Daska have apprehended an individual accused of impersonating a colonel in the Pakistan Army in an effort to influence Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sadia Jaffer’s ruling in a land dispute.
The suspect was detained after he reportedly reached out to the AC via telephone, falsely asserting that he was an active army officer and urging her to take action in a property issue. He subsequently followed up the call with multiple messages, persistently applying pressure.
AC Sadia Jaffer grew suspicious due to evident grammatical errors and inconsistencies in the communication from the caller, which cast doubt on his true identity. The impersonator also indicated that his “representative” would be visiting her office, which led the AC to inform the DSP City Daska and request a formal investigation.
Law enforcement traced the suspect’s phone number and location, resulting in his arrest. He now faces charges of impersonation, fraud, and attempting to obstruct government proceedings.
