NAB Auctions Three Bahria Town Properties
On Thursday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) auctioned six prime commercial properties owned by Bahria Town, thereby intensifying its efforts to recover funds related to a court-approved plea bargain from 2019 involving the family of Malik Riaz.
This action is a continuation of the 2019 plea bargain that was authorized by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The auction took place at NAB’s Rawalpindi office and its location in Sector G-6/1, Islamabad.
As reported by NAB officials, the Rubaish Marquee in Islamabad was successfully auctioned for Rs. 508 million, which is Rs. 20 million above its reserved price.
Conditional offers for Corporate Office-I in Rawalpindi amounted to Rs. 876 million, while Corporate Office-II received bids totaling Rs. 881.5 million.
The final approval for both offers is still pending from NAB’s Competent Authority.
Three properties did not sell due to a lack of qualifying bids, and a re-auction will be announced shortly.
