On Thursday, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) celebrated the outstanding achievements of its students in the recent matriculation and intermediate examinations organized by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).
A special event took place at Islamabad College for Boys (ICB) G-6, where Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Minister of State Wajiha Qamar honored the top 21 students for their accomplishments.
During the presentation of results, FDE Director of Academics Riffat Jabeen announced that in the SSC-II exams, 94 percent of the 13,731 candidates passed, achieving an overall GPA of 3.8. In the HSSC-II exams, 81 percent of 12,078 candidates succeeded, with a GPA of 3.02. She remarked that these results reflect the commitment and effort of students, teachers, and parents.

In his speech, Dr. Siddiqui congratulated the high achievers and emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of the country. He noted that the success of students is a point of pride for the entire nation and commended the contributions of female students, highlighting their consistent excellence when provided with opportunities.
Wajiha Qamar also spoke at the event, emphasizing that education not only imparts knowledge but also fosters values, discipline, and responsibility among youth.
The Federal Education Minister praised the dedication of teachers and parents, referring to them as the true backbone of student success. He stressed that such achievements would not be attainable without their steadfast support and guidance.
Federal Secretary for Education Nadeem Mahbub also congratulated the students and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Pakistan.
According to a press release from the FDE, the event concluded with an awards ceremony to celebrate student excellence and reaffirm the directorate’s mission to cultivate future leaders and innovators.
In a media briefing, FDE Director General Syed Junaid Akhlaq stated that the purpose of the event was to inspire students and recognize the hard work of teachers. He pointed out that the performance of schools and colleges managed by FDE has been consistently improving, showcasing the dedication of both students and educators. He further mentioned that the ceremony was held following the guidance of federal and state ministers, as well as the education secretary, to motivate students to set higher goals.
The event saw the participation of Senior Joint Secretary for Education Aftab Rashid, Federal Board Chairperson Dr. Ikram Ali Malik, Executive Director of the Inter-Board Coordination Commission Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Director Colleges FDE Shahid Abbasi, along with various principals, teachers, students, and parents.
