The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has released the results for the HSSC-I Class 11th Results examinations for the year 2024 on August 26.
These results showcase the performance of students from various academic disciplines, including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Humanities, Commerce, and others.
Overall Result Statistics
A total of 92,400 students participated in the HSSC Part-I examination.
Among them, 54,316 students successfully passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 58.75%.
The board indicated that 857 results were withheld due to different discrepancies, and 9 cases of unfair means were reported and dealt with appropriately.
Federal Board 11th Group-wise Performance
Pre-Medical:
From the 26,345 students who took the exam, 72.21% achieved a passing grade. Female students in this category outperformed their male peers, with a pass percentage of 75.19% compared to 64.76% for males.
Pre-Engineering:
In the Pre-Engineering group, there were 25,167 candidates, of which 16,583 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 65.89%.
Humanities:
As the largest group by enrollment, Humanities had 14,282 students sit for the exams, achieving a pass percentage of 60.19%. Female students excelled with a pass rate of 66.16%, while male students had a lower rate of 44.65%.
Commerce:
Among 3,527 candidates, 958 passed, leading to a pass rate of 27.19%. The pass percentage for males was 22.80%, while for females it was 20.90%.
Science General Group:
This group saw 543 candidates, with a modest pass rate of 7.60%. Only 41 students were able to pass the exams.
Subject-Wise Insights
In compulsory subjects, Urdu achieved a high pass percentage of 99.36%, followed by English with 97.12%. Optional subjects such as Physics (79.94%), Chemistry (78.18%), and Biology (84.32%) also demonstrated strong pass rates.
Liberal arts subjects, including Education (89.17%) and Islamic Studies (91.25%), exhibited positive performance trends.
Gender-Based Analysis
Out of the total, 53,369 male and 37,458 female students participated in the examination. Although male students were more numerous, female students consistently excelled across all academic disciplines, especially in Pre-Medical and Humanities.
Notable Observations
The results of 857 students were withheld due to issues related to eligibility or documentation.
Candidates who did not pass or wish to enhance their performance are eligible to take part in the upcoming Second Annual Examination.
The FBISE has already sent out result cards to heads of institutions and private candidates through digital means.
