Punjab Extends Summer Vacation for Schools
The Punjab School Education Department has formally announced an extension of the summer vacation for all public and private educational institutions throughout the province. As per a notification released on August 7, 2025, the holidays will now be observed from August 14 to August 31, with schools set to reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025.
This decision is in accordance with the approval of the Competent Authority and serves as a continuation of the department’s previous notification dated May 20, 2025. The extension is applicable to all educational establishments under the jurisdiction of the School Education Department.
The notification directs all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) to ensure strict adherence to the revised schedule in both letter and spirit.

This official announcement follows a day after the department refuted the validity of a fraudulent notification that had been circulating online, which falsely claimed an extension of the summer vacation.
At that time, the School Education Department made it clear that no such decision had been reached, and that any official updates would be disseminated through appropriate channels.
The new notification resolves the confusion and confirms that the summer break will now extend until the end of August. Schools will resume with complete academic schedules on September 1.
