Trump to significantly increase tariffs on India
On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump declared his intention to substantially raise tariffs on goods imported from India due to the nation’s ongoing acquisition of Russian oil.
“India is not merely obtaining large amounts of Russian oil; they are also, for a considerable share of the oil acquired, reselling it on the open market for significant profits,” Trump remarked.
“They are indifferent to the number of individuals in Ukraine who are losing their lives due to the Russian War Machine. As a result, I will be substantially raising the tariff that India is obligated to pay to the USA. I appreciate your attention to this issue!!!,” the U.S. President stated.
Last week, Trump announced that he would implement a 25 percent tariff on imports from India and cautioned about an additional, yet unspecified penalty, although he did not elaborate further.
